Loretto Senior School (12-18 years)
The Senior School admits pupils from 12 years (S1 equvalent). There is also a strong prep school entry at 13 years. Pupils join the School as boarders and day pupils from the UK and overseas. A significant number of pupils also join Loretto at 16, entering the Sixth Form. Appox 70% of the pupils in the Senior School boarder.
The School welcomes pupils from all sectors of the community. Although the majority of our pupils are UK based approx 16% of the pupils in the Senior School are from overseas. These include children of ex-pats, the Armed Forces and Foreign Nationals.
Loretto has recently seen a great deal of activity in terms of improvements in Senior School facilities both in classrooms and in boarding and day provision. Over the course of 2005/6 eight science laboratories were completely refurbished, along with four new maths classrooms. The School has also created an additional art and ICT room and a state-of-the art sound recording studio. All five senior school boarding houses are modernised and restructured to create two for the Sixth Form, two for Third, Fourth and Fifth Form, and one day house for boys and girls.
