Seton House
'We all live under the same sky, but we don't all have the same horizon'. (Konrad Adenauer)
Seton House for 2nd - 5th Form boy boarders enjoys an excellent location beside the Astroturf and the golfing practice area. Many recreational hours are spent playing tennis, hockey, football along with the Seton versions of cricket, gridiron football, water sliding as well as relaxing on the grass in the Scottish sun chatting with their peers.
Seton is home to 2nd 3rd, 4th and 5th Form boarding boys under the guidance of housemaster Rick Valentine and assistant housemaster Michael Powell, who are supported by two resident tutors Stephen Dick and Michele Powell. The House has well appointed single rooms, 2-3 man rooms and 4-6 man rooms. The communal life takes place centrally with a Dayroom for all gatherings; a Games room for pool, X Box and table football. Upstairs are the TV lounge equipped with 47" TV, blueray player and surround sound cinema. There is also a house kitchen, ICT computer room although the house is also on a wireless network allowing those boys with laptops access to the internet.
Each boy is allocated a tutor who they see each morning for a registration class, and then individually every two to three weeks and keeps in touch with parents on a regular basis. Although all members of Seton Staff are there for support, the role of the tutor is specifically to monitor their tutees' progress and development. Current Seton tutors are Michael Powell (AHM), Andrew Keulimans (Chaplin), Nick Guise (Learning Support), John Mountford (Music) and David Levey (Maths).
Seton is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, sense of goodwill and striving for those key ingredients of self-discipline, personal improvement and peer support.
