19 candidates achieved a UCAS tariff of over 400, with a highest tariff of 600, representing 5 A-levels at grade A, achieved by one candidate. The school average of 350 UCAS points per candidate is the highest in Scotland. The average number of A-levels per candidate (including AS certifications as ½ an A-level) is 3.7, also the highest in Scotland.

Bearing in mind that Loretto is essentially a non-selective school, and that all year 13 candidates are entered for A-level examinations (few other schools in Scotland do this), all relevant academic indicators suggest that Loretto has become one of the strongest academic schools in the country.
