Established in 2002, Loretto's Golf Academy was the first of its kind in the UK and enrols pupils from all over the world. It operates from the School's practice facilities and local golf courses and is directed by the School's resident Golf Professional, Rick Valentine and a team of top class external coaching professionals. The Academy has had considerable success and is now widely recognised as one of the top golf schools in the UK.

At the core of the programme is the School's belief in golf as a life skill that promotes enjoyment as well as self-discipline and commitment. Our aim is to foster golfing skills in as many pupils as possible and also to play a significant part in producing Scottish, British and World Champions.

Adam Wraight, Sixth Form Golf Scholar

"I joined Loretto in the Sixth Form on a Golf Scholarship. I am now a member of Loretto's Elite Golf Squad and am looking forward to

taking part in the renowned HMC Schools Foursomes Championships this year - our team has a lot to live up to as last year we were runner-up and the year before overall winners. The golf programme at Loretto has been very beneficial to my game, as well as allowing me to play for the hockey 1st XI.

"I have had so many opportunities at Loretto that there really is nothing you cannot do if you want to. I would say to any new pupil that they should give of their best at all times and they will be rewarded both in the classroom and out. Loretto has the capacity to cater for every aspect of School life, whatever that may be. I am looking forward to moving on to University andknow that Loretto has given me the confidence to proceed with my further education in a positive way."
