Should we give aid? Why do we give to charity? It seems to be almost unthinkable that anyone should question what we give to charity - but does it do the good we think it does.

On this occasion the focus of the discussion at The Headmaster's Society was free will and the legal dilemmas that can accompany the behaviour of individuals. In one case a small childs conduct has legal consequences and in another the free will of a young lady to refuse food is actioned by the courts.

As part of the Headmaster’s Society a series of discussions and debates about contemporary issues will be held in Pinke House. Members of the Upper Sixth have been considering the notion of prohibition and how effective it is in the market for illegal drugs.
