The first game of the season for the side, with several players making their debut on the rugby field, and we started nervously. We looked hesitant with the ball in our hands and a little sleepy in defence as Ardvreck quickly got into their stride and opened up a four-try lead before we really started to play. A good score just before half time by Rory Turner made the half-time talk a little easier and we started the second half quite brightly. Our handling was better, our running more direct and our defence was looking more secure. A great drive out of defence was finished off by Danny Forster who out-sprinted the immediate and cover defence to score a breath-taking try.
