Before teacher training, Katie worked as a Field Studies Instructor, multi-activity instructor, lifeguard, Assistant House Parent and in Learning Support. In 2000 she completed her PGCE Science (Biology) from the University of York. She taught in 3 very different schools before arriving at Loretto: the Lancaster Royal Grammar School (2001-2004), Thomas Telford School (2004 – 2005) and Kingussie High School (2005-2008).
Katie is co-author of the ISEB Science pocket notes. She keeps active by playing national league volleyball, mountain biking and hill walking.
