Loretto offer to top Musselburgh rugby players

Loretto School is to offer a ‘life-changing opportunity' to young Musselburgh RFC players.

Loretto has had well established links with the club for many years and says it is delighted to offer two Loretto Rugby Scholarships to young players from Musselburgh Rugby Club per year. These rugby scholarships (see sports scholarships), supplemented by means-tested bursaries can be worth up to 100 per cent of the Loretto School fees and will offer a life-changing opportunity to Musselburgh Rugby Club players aged 12-16.

Loretto rugby scholars can expect a high level of coaching from within the school and from specialist external coaches. Loretto regularly produces regional representative players and has produced Scotland U18 representatives in recent years.

A rugby scholar can expect a closely monitored individual progress plan covering all aspects of the game, including skills development, strength and conditioning and psychological aspects.

There will be access to high quality coaching, including sessions from ex and current international players and ex and current international coaches.

There will also be a chance to be part of the school's Exchange Programme with opportunities to study and play rugby at schools in South Africa and Australia.
